Bonjour! We are Amina and José.

A Franco-American couple united by a love for travel, meaningful places and thoughtful hospitality, we are deeply connected to Chablis, Amina’s hometown.
In December 2022, just before moving to Canada for three years, we followed our hearts and purchased a unique 19th-century house in Chablis. Even while living abroad, we remained closely involved in its transformation, traveling back and forth regularly to take part in the renovation. With our own hands — and the invaluable help of Amina’s brothers — the house slowly came back to life, shaped with patience, care and intention.
We imagined a place designed as if for ourselves: warm, elegant and restorative. Not only a personal retreat, but a home meant to be shared with travelers seeking authenticity, comfort and a true sense of place. This vision is what gave birth to Maisons Vaudésir.
In June 2025, we returned to France to care for Maisons Vaudésir full-time. Being on site allows us to nurture every detail, welcome guests personally, and continue evolving the experience with the same attention we would give our own home.

Why Vaudésir? Chablis is renowned for its wines and its seven exceptional Grand Cru vineyards. During José’s very first visit to Chablis, Vaudésir Grand Cru was an instant favorite. Located just steps away from the house, the name became an obvious choice, reflecting both terroir and feeling.
Maisons Vaudésir is, above all, a house with a soul — designed for those who notice the details, value craftsmanship, and believe that a place should tell a story.
